TANDEM  Diversity

2025 - Idaho: This was a 3 day tour on the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. We rode the entire trail both directions, with one other tandem couple. We parked in Plummer, Idaho. Day 1 was Plummer to Kellogg, Idaho, where we rented a condo for 2 nights. Day 2 was to Mullan, Idaho and back, including some time spent in Wallace at the rail museum. Day 3 was back to Plummer. The trail surface is quite nice, the scenery is excellent, and there are tons of birds to see. We saw deer but no moose; rats! The trail is mostly flat; there is a climb up to Mullan from Wallace, very easy. The final 5 or 6 miles on the return to Plummer is mostly climbing, again pretty easy at 2 or 3%.

We had this trail on our list for years - glad we finally went, glad we shared it with friends, and glad we had excellent weather!

For this tour we selected our Co-Motion Carrera Rohloff Co-Pilot tandem, with 650b wheels, pulling our gear in a Bob trailer.
